Built on the belief that commercial real estate isn’t just about the buildings, the square footage and the occupancies, it’s about spaces and places that improve lives and help businesses thrive; for the employees and communities that make impact matter.
We wanted to show off what a large and impressive site Lakeside North Harbour is and what better way to do this than use our First Person Drone (FPV). We captured a tour of the site as well as other scenes that would add to the excitement of the final video. As you can imagine, flying a drone around the inside of a busy building came with a few challenges and it was essential the areas were kept clear from a safety perspective. We also ensured that those who were part of the filming were fully briefed and there were as few interruptions as possible. Timing was also very important for this shoot as there were limited chances to use the drone. We had to ensure a seamless transition in the final video between footage captured from above using the FPV drone and the DJI Mini 4 Pro, and b-roll from the ground.
The edit needed to be quick-paced enough to convey the excitement of working at Lakeside North Harbour but with relaxing elements that complemented the green space and chilled environment. We decided to start the film with an angler casting on the lake and with 1000 Lakeside in the background. As he swings his fishing rod into the water, the FPV drone flies over the lake towards the building. From then we use speed ramps when travelling around and cutting into scenes shot with our other cameras. The speed ramps allow us to hide inessential cuts within the FPV drone footage. The music we selected had high energy to lead the pace of the film as well as lulls for when we wanted to slow things down. We added some sound ambience and visual effects within the edit to immerse the viewer further and reinforce the brand.
