Our process

We make commissioning a video project simple. With over 10,000 videos behind us, we’ve developed a clear process for producing your perfect content.

As a creative team that prides ourselves on producing content with heart, our first step is to understand how we can connect your audience to your content in a meaningful way.

From our producers, camera operators and editors, we work as one team to create content that delivers your messages and represents your brand.

How we work with you

Step 1
1.Discovery & Strategy

We listen, learn, and build a plan aligned with your goals. We understand what types of videos work and we’ll help you determine the best strategy for your content that will reach your target audience.

We start with a kick off meeting to define the content, the message, your brand and your audience. During this chat, we discuss any ideas you have and offer our initial thoughts. 

If you need wider support with content delivery across your website, social media and internal communications, we can work with you to produce a content roadmap for 6 or 12 months.

Step 2
2.Creative Development

Think of this as the pre-production stage. Once we know what you’re aiming to achieve, we will develop the content, the narrative arcs, plan who and what will be filmed, obtain permissions and licences, and coordinate with your team and ours. 

Feel free to be as involved as you like at this stage; we are used to working with clients as autonomous creatives or collaboratively as part of your creative team.

Step 3
3.Production

Now we’re clear on the strategy, the creative, the plan and the output, the next phase is for our experienced in-house videographer to capture the footage. We don’t use freelancers and our team will bring a level of consistency, quality and full knowledge of what your objectives are for the filming day.

Step 4
4.Post-production

After the filming is wrapped, the editing begins! We aim for a 10 day turnaround and footage is cut by our in-house video editors, motion graphic artists and animators. The extra touches such as music, captions, and accessibility options are added at this stage. Pop in and visit us during this stage if you’d like to see this part of the process.

Step 5
5.Delivery & Optimisation

Once feedback has been received and your final edits made, we'll deliver your digital assets in the agreed formats and all ready for you to optimise across your marketing channels.

We offer a social media support service where we write captions, identify relevant hashtags, and post your videos, helping you get time back in your business or role and ensuring your audience gets consistent content from you.

Process FAQs

We know you might have questions around your video project, particularly if this is your first time working with us, so we’ve tried to answer the most common ones. Get in touch to have a chat through other questions you may have.

Projects can be delivered from the same day to several months depending on what is required but, on average, a company video will take around 6 weeks from being briefed to delivering the final assets.

Once we’ve edited your video, we’ll share it with you for your feedback via a link. This allows you to watch the video and comment on it with timestamps automatically added. Our editors can see this and make the amends. We build in two rounds of feedback into every asset we make.

This is your film so the full rights of the final asset are yours, however copyright law directs that the videographer retains the rights to the raw footage (rushes). Think of it like a restaurant - our clients pay for the meal and the kitchen retains the ingredients. We don’t do anything with this unused footage, we simply archive it and have it available to use in your future videos.

You can view our work and hear what our clients say about working with us. We create over 1,300 videos a year and can’t share them all, so if there’s a type of video or industry you’d like to see in particular, get in touch.

Measuring video ROI is difficult and will depend on what the aims of the video are. For example, if your goal is to increase brand awareness, you’d focus on engagement metrics. Video assets are one cog in a wider marketing campaign or strategy and you’ll want your video to work hard for you  - think how will you optimise it? What keywords will you include? What channels and platforms are your audience on?

It happens! Everyone is busy and sometimes a project needs to be paused or delayed. We simply pause our work too and will be ready to resume when you are. If a project budget looks like it is going to creep, we make you well aware of this in advance. We don’t like surprises any more than you!
