Ready to make a bigger impact with video and connect with your audience on a deeper level? Let’s talk about how we can bring your mission to life through film.
They harness the motivational power of Portsmouth Football Club to promote education, healthy living, sporting participation and achievement among vulnerable and disadvantaged people of all ages. The John Jenkins Stadium is their new sports facility and community hub in the middle of the city.
We interviewed Jodie, Head of Marketing and Fundraising at Pompey in the Community, along with other local businesses that had supported the project by donating their time and service including signage, wash facilities, and CCTV. Speaking to these supporters allowed us to demonstrate the various types of donations that enable a community hub to be put together, and examples of how other people/businesses can get involved. The b-roll we captured helped to support the interview content and provide the audience with visuals of what had been done so far and what still needs to happen.
We decided to incorporate drone footage into this project as it would really show off the scale of the John Jenkins Stadium and everything it has to offer. We used the DJI Mini 4 Pro which took flight just as the sun started to become lower in the sky. This gave us softer and warmer lighting to achieve a cinematic look. Filming with the drone gave us another perspective to see the stadiums and show off its fabulous location in the city of Portsmouth.
From an editing perspective, the drone footage helped to situate the location of the stadium and add to the narrative as it was used as scene breakers to keep the viewer engaged and to set the right pace and energy. At the end of the film, we used Adobe After Effects to create a visually engaging graphic with 5 ways the audience can support their charity. Graphics are a valuable way to give a lot of information in a short time whilst remaining clear and easy to understand.
