Curriculum Focused Film-Making Experiences

We provide pioneering filmmaking experiences for young people from key stage 2 to key stage 5. Our targeted, curriculum-focused projects fit seamlessly into school environments and are proven to increase literacy, IT, confidence and aspirations.

Recognised by Artswork, Into Film, Ofsted and the Department for Education, our workshops range from one day introduction workshops to six month large scale productions. Every project allows young people the opportunity to experience and work with industry standard cameras, lighting and sound and work as part of a professional production team.

We also provide training and professional development for teaching staff members and support staff.

"Millstream Productions have made a significant and sustained impact on the children's understanding of not only film making but also literacy, notably speaking and listening and writing skills. Working with Millstream is no longer considered a luxury, which staff and pupils enjoy, but an essential part of our literacy curriculum."

Natasha Griggs
Deputy Headteacher, Primary School

" I am always so impressed with Millstream staff and their handling of our students. They are excellent in ensuring they don't just take control of camera shots and make the students feel as if they are in charge at all times. For our students, who genuinely do make films in their own time, the experience is invaluable."

Steve Murray
Curriculum Director of the Arts, Sixth Form College

"The work, with Year 5 and 6 pupils that I have seen is ambitious and of really high quality. I think what impressed me the most was the pupils technical understanding of the genre they were working in and their technical understanding of film making. The work is firmly embedded in the curriculum and the impact on communication skills and literacy levels is significant."

Lorraine Cheshire
Schools Liaison Manager, Artswork

"Millstream Productions have been a dream to work with. The young people involved in the project were given a lot of time to develop their skills and learn how to work as a production company, whilst also having creative control each step of the way. The Millstream team were friendly, professional and flexible and the work they produced with the participants was exceptional."
